History The Mooney M20K Encore has its roots in the M20 of 1955. However, the design has undergone a multitude of changes since then. The M20 line includes the Mooney 201 and the current production Bravo, Eagle 2 and Ovation 2. The M20K itself is also referred to as the Mooney 231 (1979–1985) and the 252TSE (1986–1990). Most Mooneys have two things in common: speed and efficiency. A 220 hp Continental engine powers this Mooney. Seating for four is snug and it is really 2+2 seating. The M20K Encore entered production in 1997.
